Did you know you could part-fund your SAP process improvement project?

Most SAP implementations don't fail at go-live. They drift over time.

It happens slowly. Someone who knew the system inside out moves on. A workaround in Excel saves time during a busy month and quietly becomes the way things are done. Master data stops matching what's on the shelf. Before long, people trust the spreadsheet more than SAP, and every new workaround makes that worse.

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. These are the patterns we see at our SAP clients, again and again:

What drift looks like
Key expertise lost

A key person leaves without a successor, and drift speeds up.

Workarounds embedded

Excel and manual steps become part of daily operations.

Master data out of date

Lead times and planning parameters no longer match reality.

Confidence declining

Trust in SAP falls, which reinforces the workarounds.

The problem isn't knowing. It's the budget.

Most leadership teams already know their SAP system needs attention. What stops them is finding the money for a programme to remediate the system.

This is where many companies in Ireland are missing a trick.

IDA Ireland · Business Development Programme
*Up to €300,000

in grant support on consultancy for digital transformation.

  • For IDA client companies
  • *Percentage funded by IDA Ireland is approved on a case-by-case basis
  • Apply any time

What the grant actually covers

IDA Ireland's Business Development Programme part-funds the cost of expert consultants who help a company build and deliver a digital transformation. The activities IDA lists include:

  • Mapping how the business runs today, its processes and information flows

  • Assessing current systems against the business strategy

  • Defining the future state and a technology roadmap, with high-level costs

  • Supporting resources such as data cleansing, change management and project management

Where REST4RT fits

REST4RT is COGO's structured programme for exactly that situation. It's recovery, not rebuild: we find out why your team works around SAP instead of through it, fix the data and process causes, and embed the change so your people sustain it after we leave.

REST4RT at a glance
1Discovery & SAP Health CheckAn in-depth diagnostic of how SAP is really used.
2RecoveryData and process fixes, workstream by workstream.
3Embed & SustainKPIs, routines and coaching so it sticks.
4Future EnhancementsA prioritised backlog for what comes next.

Our clients are already doing it

We have clients who have been awarded IDA grants for our REST4RT programme. The process is simpler than most people expect:

  • Talk to us. A 30-minute call to see whether REST4RT and the grant fit your situation.

  • Speak to IDA. Raise it with your IDA Project Executive before any work starts.

  • Apply. Your company applies; we help you scope the days, deliverables and outcomes the application needs.

  • Deliver REST4RT. Discovery first, then recovery and embedding, sized to what Discovery finds.

You don't have to commit to everything up front. The Discovery Phase is fixed in scope, and you see the findings before deciding what comes next.

Not an IDA client?

The Business Development Programme is for companies in IDA Ireland's client portfolio. If you work with an IDA Project Executive, you are one. Irish-owned companies should look at Enterprise Ireland's digital and operational supports instead. We're happy to help you work out which route applies.

And if your system isn't SAP, the REST4RT method still applies. It was built on SAP, but the approach works on any ERP or CRM that has drifted from how it was meant to run.
